DIY fringed gift tags

When you’re an over-acheiver, you can never be too quick to the punch on a holiday craft. Lucky for you, we like to think we’re over-achievers most days, and as such, we’ve worked up a pretty neat gift tag idea for this holiday season…

Materials:

  • Tissue paper
  • Glue stick & tape
  • Scissors
  • Cardstock
  • Twine
  • Hole punch
  • Sheet of plain paper
  • X-acto knife

Cut out several stacks of colored tissue paper and then cut strips just past halfway on all of them, now you’ll have plenty of fringe to work with for the tags. Start gluing the strips of fringe onto the paper starting at the bottom so that they will layer nicely and continue adding fringe until the paper is covered.

Sketch or trace a design onto a sheet of card stock and then cut it out with an X-acto knife. Cut just enough of your fringed paper to fit behind the design, and then tape it in place. Cut another piece of card stock to glue to the back of your tag to seal everything in place.

Hole punch the top of the tag and string it with twine.
