DIY Cork Coasters

Sometimes the simplest projects become my favorites. Adding a simple gold design to the cork coasters from the May Whimseybox gave them a modern graphic touch that contrasts perfectly with the natural cork.

Start with a cork coaster. You can use precut round (or square) coasters like we did, or cut your own from a sheet or roll of cork.

Tape off a simple (really, keep it simple!) design. We intentionally made them all a little different in size and shape- it’s more fun than trying to make them all identical and then stressing out when one is slightly different. By the way, how awesome is that tape!? It’s from K&Company’s Smash line.

Paint! We used Martha Stewart Gold Multi-Surface Metallic Paint. Is there anything that isn’t improved by the addition of gold paint? Pinterest proves there is not!

Once the paint dries, peel off the tape. That’s it! Have a frosty lemonade or beer to celebrate your 15 minutes of hard work :)

Okay, you got me. That beer isn’t even open!
