One of Alicia’s first goals with Whimseybox was to find and use a box that was high quality, beautiful and very useful past its initial purpose (getting awesome crafty supplies to your doorstep). Each Whimseybox is packed with care in a stylish and durable white box with lid closures and a metal label holder. We love seeing what people are doing with their boxes once they’ve used the supplies inside, and wanted to share some of them with you!
Casey of Pretty Organized used her Whimseybox to create a cool and handy washi tape organizer. So brilliant! I love the way she labeled each section with the pieces of washi tape. It’s beautiful just looking at all the little rolls of tape so neatly organized.
You can read more about how she made her dividers over on her blog.
Mary of Larkspur Stitchery is a long-time Whimseybox subscriber. Her stack of boxes is impressive, and she’s using them to store all the special threads and embroidery floss she uses for her gorgeous hand stitching.
Mary says, “Whimseyboxes make GREAT project boxes too!” The picture below is a picture from a class project for which she could keep all the necessary threads in one Whimseybox.
And look how nice all her boxes look, stacked up in her shelves. This is exactly what Alicia had in mind when she chose the boxes for Whimseybox. They are beautiful and useful. (note: the top three boxes in the picture below are the earliest boxes. Our newer boxes are larger and have a Velcro closure.)
I’ve been re-purposing my Whimseyboxes as well. I’ve recently taken up quilting, and purchased a new sewing machine that came with several different presser feet and other accessories. They were packaged in a plastic pouch that was buried in the machine’s storage compartment, making them kind of a pain to get to when I needed to switch feet out or grab a new bobbin. I used one Whimseybox to store all those bits and pieces, and another (not pictured) to store my rotary cutter, snips and other tools. Now they are neatly wrangled in a cute box, and I can easily and quickly grab what I need right on my cutting table.
